I'm a tireless believer, passionate about people's stories and nothing gives me more pleasure than to help another soul live a better life.

I see therapy as a journey conducted with respect, a non-judgmental relationship filled with love, and lots of training.

I can't feel your pain but I can put myself in your shoes and help you develop your strengths to take control of your life in a healthy way.

Besides work, my other passions are my family, travel, and music concerts.  I also love to learn about different cultures through movies, books, travel, and most important of all, meeting people with stories and adventures different from mine.

Experience

I have been in private practice for more than twenty years counseling teenagers, adults, couples, and families with a wide range of different issues (depression, anxiety, addictions, suicidal, trauma, family conflicts, divorce, relationship conflicts, sexual issues, etc.).  In the past, I have worked in private practice, clinics, and non-profit organizations.

Academically I have always studied and written about cultural diversity involving ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, and economic and social conditions which gives me the ability to work with and help people from all kinds of different backgrounds. I developed a cultural diversity therapeutic tool that I use to work with conflicts in families, groups, and communities.

As a counselor, I work with a number of different theoretical approaches. The main approach that I use to guide my work is Systemic Theory which helps me contextualize and see all the various facets involved in every situation. I also use Psychodrama and Narrative therapy. I am also trained in EMDR therapy which I consider a powerful tool in trauma treatment. My overall approach is very collaborative and cultural oriented.
